What we collect — and nothing else
We collect no name, no phone number, no postal address, no payment data. There is no profiling, no automated decision-making, no targeted advertising.
- Your email address, which you type in yourself.
- The country your signup comes from, derived from your IP address by our host. We do not store the IP address itself.
- The language of the site at the time of signup.
- The signup date, along with the date and exact wording of your consent.
- The unsubscribe date, if applicable.
Why
To send you news on the product's progress, and to tell you when the platform opens.
The country tells us which markets demand is coming from, so we can decide in which order to open them. It is used in aggregate.
Legal basis
Your consent, article 6.1.a of the GDPR. It is collected through a checkbox that is not pre-ticked, and we keep the proof: date and exact wording accepted.
You may withdraw it at any time, without justification, without affecting what was sent before.
For how long
Your data is kept as long as you are subscribed, then for 36 months after you unsubscribe or after our last contact.
This period guarantees that no email will ever be sent again to an unsubscribed address. After that, the data is deleted.
You can request immediate deletion at any time: see below.
Who has access
The publisher, alone. No data is sold, rented, exchanged or passed on for advertising purposes.
Three technical providers are involved, solely to run the service:
- Supabase — database hosting, in the European Union. Email addresses cannot be read from the browser: only our server can access them.
- Vercel Inc. — website hosting. Company established in the United States.
- Resend — email delivery, as soon as the first reports go out. Company established in the United States.
Transfers outside the European Union
Website hosting and email delivery involve companies established in the United States. These transfers are covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the Data Privacy Framework.
The database holding the email addresses is hosted in the European Union.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies. No advertising cookie, no analytics cookie, no third-party tracker.
That is why you see no consent banner: there is nothing to consent to. If an analytics tool were ever added, it would be a cookie-free one, and this page would be updated before it went live.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data.
- Stop receiving our emails: the unsubscribe link in every email, immediate effect, no justification needed.
- Get a copy of your data, correct it or have it deleted: write to contact@wadar.app. Reply within 30 days at most, in practice within 72 hours.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL — the French data protection authority, 3 place de Fontenoy, 75007 Paris, cnil.fr.
Security
Traffic to and from the site is encrypted. The table holding email addresses is protected at database level: no public key can read it, write to it or empty it. Only the Wadar server can access it, with a key that is never sent to the browser.
In the event of a data breach likely to create a risk to your rights, you would be informed by email, as would the CNIL, in accordance with article 34 of the GDPR.
